Hill exits Foundation

Vanessa Hill is stepping down as MD of Zodiak Media-owned children’s producer The Foundation to reunite with fellow co-founder Ged Allen at his new venture.

Hill has been MD since founding the company with Allen in 1994, co-creating and producing many of its successful series including Finger Tips, Ministry of Mayhem and CBeebies series Tickety Toc.

But she is now moving to Jacabo, the fledgling indie formed by Allen following his departure from The Foundation last year.

Hill will be replaced by current head of production Gwen Hughes. Hughes has worked in news, sport, drama and kids television during a 30-year career, including stints on shows including Ruth Rendell Mysteries, The Big Breakfast and Dramarama.

She joined The Foundation in 1996 as a production assistance and has worked on hit CBeebies series Waybuloo and Bafta winning Stephen & Holly’s Saturday Showdown among many others.

She will take up the role from September 1, reporting to The Foundation’s CEO and chairman Nigel Pickard.
